I realize we have touched on this topic often recently but it is very important to address, especially this time of year. While these wrist bands have not been proven to be effective “scientifically”, many dermatologists think at the very least they are a good indicator of when we have been exposed to the sun too long and also a good teaching tool for kids.

It is the time of year when pools will be opening a month from now, trips to the beach will be planned and, even now, just walking around outside, exposes us to what many consider harmful effects of too much exposure to the sun.

Melinda Beck, Health Writer for the Wall Street Journal, interviewed several dermatologists and came away with some good information that could literally save us in the future. As a person who has had a couple bouts with melanoma can attest, taking a few minutes to read this is worth it. More on this topic to follow soon.
